Prior to founding Monica E. Ortiz, Marketing & Events Consulting in October 2000, I held the following positions:
  • Director of Marketing, The USENIX Association
  • Staffing and Events Manager, Ciber, Inc
  • Assistant Project Manager, Analog Devices
  • Marketing Communications Manager, Computer Resources Group

As a consultant, I have helped corporations and associations expand their reach into their target customer markets using email, web, direct mail, telemarketing, and advertising. I have guided clients in developing strategies for integrating marketing campaigns and events to generate leads in their targeted markets. Event management services include customer seminars, webcasts and virtual conferences, speaking engagements, tradeshows and expos.

Integrated Marketing as a Philosophy

An integrated approach to promotional campaigns utilizes all appropriate media to tightly knit messaging and events. The result is targeted lead generation, a shorter sales cycle and increased return on investment.

I work independently or with executive management and cross functional teams to create, implement, and evaluate corporate and outbound marketing campaigns. I have been responsible for copywriting and editing, creating messaging strategies and goals, implementing and coordinating promotional campaigns, hosting and managing webcasts and customer seminars, and project managing exhibitions at tradeshows and conferences. My work spans all current media: web, email, direct mail, print, radio and television.

With over a decade of experience in IT, non-profit, entertainment and sports marketing, I bring a diverse set of skills in marketing communications strategy, campaign implementation, lead generation, event management, database administration and management reporting. I am a seasoned professional with experience working with executive management, cross functional teams and multiple vendors. My creative efforts have delivered integrated marketing and event campaigns that connect businesses to partners and customers, generate real leads, create a buzz within press and user communities – all with an eye towards shortening the sales cycle and increasing return on investment.
